DISTRICT 3 RATINGS – JANUARY 15, 2018

Written by: Jerry Shenk on January 15, 2018

January 14, 2018

FRIENDS: Most of you probably know because of reasons I’ve stated before I don’t get out to many games anymore. But there is so much on the internet to see I actually see three to four tines as many games than I used to. I watched about five District 3 games this week but have been watching Nationally also in the last three year. I watch a lot of National Tournaments and Showcases. There are many boarding schools now that recruit Internationally but they are what I try to stay away from and rarely watch there games. This being MLK Weekend there were two I had fun watching over this weekend. The Hoophall Invitational in Springfield, Mass, home of the Hall of Fame and Flyin’ To The Hoops in Dayton, Ohio. Hoophall had 35 games in five days and Flyin’ To The Hoops 20 games in four days. Here is what I saw on Saturday and Sunday.

Hoophall Classic – Saturday
9:00AM Burlington Rice Memorial, Vermont 62 Rochester McQuaid Jesuit, NY 58
10:30AM Long Island Lutheran High School, NY 76 Lawrence Central Catholic, MA 54
12 NOON Arlington Bishop O’Connell, Virginia 81 Albany Academy, NY 69
1:30PM Philadelphia Imhotep Charter, PA 64 New Haven Hillhouse, CT 35
3:00PM Washington Gonzaga, DC 66 Waterbury Sacred Heart, CT 38
4:30PM Orlando Oak Ridge, Florida 80 Roselle Catholic, New Jersey 68
6:00PM Montverde Academy, Florida 64 Chicago Simeon Career, Illinois 62
8:00PM Chino Hills, California 70 Spartanburg Day, South Carolina 64

Premier Health Flyin’ to the Hoop High School Basketball Invitational – Saturday
Game #6: 4:45 pm Pickerington North, Ohio 51 Cincinnati Princeton, Ohio 38
Game #7: 6:30 pm McEachern, Georgia 87 Trotwood Madison, Ohio 77
Best game of the ten for sure. Georgia’s #1 against Ohio’s Division 2’s #1. McEachern trailed from 3 to seven points a lot of the third and part of the fourth, but McEarchern’s 10 man rotation was just two much in the last two minutes

DeMatha Catholic, Maryland 86 Queens Archbishop Molloy, New York 56
Baltimore Mount St. Joseph, Maryland 71 Ranney School, New Jersey 48

Premier Health Flyin’ to the Hoop High School Basketball Invitational – Sunday
