York League Tournament Outlook
A total of eight league teams qualify for the YAIAA league tournament. Play is to begin on February 12th with the round of eight. The round of four follows on February 16 followed by the championships on February 18th.

The event is to be played in the new York Tech arena. The change from York college was necessitated by York College redoing their floor and not providing a high school three-point line. The York Tech is a fine facility with as much seating as York College.
The YAIAA is broken into three divisions based on size. The eight qualifiers for the tournament are three from Division 1, two from Division 2, two from Division 3 and a wild card from either Division 2 or 3 based on power points.

The bracket works out to be in the top half, D-1, 1 seed vs. wild card and Division 3, 1 seed vs. Division 2, 2 seed.
Bottom half will be Division 1, 2 seed vs. Division 3, 2 seed and Division 2, 1 seed vs. Division 1, 3 seed.

Very few spots remain settled at this point. Only D-1 Red Lion, D-2 West York and D-3 York Catholic seem certain. In D-1 three teams, Northeastern, Dallastown & Southwestern, have 4-6 losses with plenty of games to play between them. D-2 has Eastern York with 3 losses followed by Susquehannock & Gettysburg with 4 losses. D-3 has Littlestown with 2 losses followed by Delone with 3 losses.

With YAIAA teams fairing poorly when they go out of league this year, the YAIAA championship will be the highlight of someone’s season.
