LL semis at CV Feb 14

TWP (Section 1 champ) vs Etown (Section 2 runner up)

The Streaks have been battling for the last few weeks. They claimed the Section 1 title on the last night of the regular season by beating Cedar Crest. Manhiem TWP Took care of its first round game with Garden Spot 70-34.

Matt Johns, TWP’s boss, “we match up well with Etown. ..we are similar…Both teams have dangerous guards and wings…We are not quite mirror images of each but it should be a good game”

Etown took out LS on LS’ home floor 47-44. Both teams split with games that they played this year. TWP winning 65- 46 in the second game of the year and The Bears winning 72-71 in OT at Etown…..but that was a long time ago.

Star me…on display Thursday will be TWP’s Tyler Crespo (1700 pt plus scorer and all0time leading scorer for the Streaks) and Larry Locker 6’5” dunking machine (all time leading scorer for Etown). I can’t ever remember when we had the top 2 all time scorers going against each other in the same game.

TWP Probable starters: Tyler Crespo (22 ppg ), Bredan Mellot (14 ppg) Zac Oldac (10 ppg) Tyler Vicidomini (9 ppg) Will Greiner (3ppg)
Team PPG = 53 Def Avg 49

Etown: Probable starters: Larry Locker (20 ppg) , Elijah Eberly (10 ppg) Ryan Parise (10 ppg) Amos Kollie (8 ppg) Dylan Seger (5 ppg).
Team PPG = 62 Def Avg 57

Cedar Crest (Sec 1 runner up) vs Warwick (Section 2 champ)
Crest won a gritty game vs Lancaster Cath 56-44 on Wed. The Falcons feature the shot blocking of Jason Eberhart (6’7” jn) and Ileri Ayo-Faleye (6’7” jn)…and of course another top scoring guard in Logan Horn.
Tom Smith, Crests headman “We are looking forward to playing in the semi’s again, it’s been too long since we were here. Warwick has had a special season and are super talented. We need to be on our defensive assignments at all times because they have a number of players who can score the ball. Defensively they are very tough and scrappy. They lack a little bit of size but make up for it with intensity and toughness. It is going to be an awesome environment with both semifinal games at the same location. We are going to embrace the opportunity and it is going to be a good game.”

Warwick took out Lancaster Mennonite on a last second basket by top soph, Joey McCracken. Check out Blue Ridge 11 twitter site for videos of the “play”. The Warriors took out Crest earlier in the year at Warwick. Warwick features dribble penetration and kick outs for 3’s, whereas the Falcons will use their patented dribble drive offense to try to get to the basketball.

Warwick: Probable starters: Ryan Shirk (14 ppg), Joey McCracken (13 ppg), Colby Martin (8 ppg), Brock Fassnacht (6 jpg), Tryster George (5 ppg)
Team PPG = 57    Def avg = 50

CREST: Probable starters: Logan Horn (20 ppg), Jason Eberhart (10 ppg), Ileri Ayo-Faleye (10 ppg),Brody Dunlap (5 ppg) , Trey Shutter (5 ppg)
