Section 1

 

Roger Castlegrande – Cedar Crest 6′ Sn…. A pure scorer. Averaged 20.1 points in LL play. Finished 2nd in 3’s with 30. An excellent foul shooter , 76%, who went to the line more than any other player in Section 1.
   
Derrick Dull – Ephrata 6′ 3″ Sn…. A physical presence, Derrick did a little bit of everything for the Mounts. 13 points per game in Section. Had 14 threes and shot 74% from the foul line.
   
Jarred Texter – Penn Manor 6′ Jn. …A three point specialist who led the Comets to their first LL berth in over 10 yrs. Jarred avg. 14 ppg and led the LL with 38 threes. He is in the LLHoops.com top ten with a 79% rating from the foul line.
   
Dustin Salisbury- McCaskey 6’4″ Sn… Led Section one in scoring with a 21 ppg avg. Led McCaskey to third straight section crown and finished 2nd in District 3 4A. Dustin rebounded and help bring up the ball vs. pressure. Willing to take and make key shots (three pointer vs. Hempfield to win a game and three pointer vs. Reading to force OT in district semis.)
   
Akeem Washington – McCaskey 6’8″ Sn. ..The defensive presence for the Tornado. Led the LL in block shots. Akeem also improved his offense as he averaged 10 ppg. He allowed McCaskey to pressure perimeter as he swatted away many potential buckets this season.
   
   

Coach(es) of the Year

Tim Glackin – Solanco. …Led the Mules back to LL berth. Finsished 2nd in Section 1 and claimed a berth in District 3 play.

Steve Powell – McCaskey…Led McCaskey to third LL game. Fisnished 2nd in District 3 4A. Unbeaten in Section 1.

 


 

 Section 2

 

Mike Herr – LS 64′ Sn…. Mike led LS in scoring. He developed a nice 15-18 foot jumper and could score in the paint as well. He led the section in scoring with an 18.9 avg. Led LS to district berth.
   
Franklyn Minaya – Lebanon 6′ 4″ Jn….The starting center for the Cedars. His post up game and interior def. helped Lebanon to gain a PIAA berth for the second straight year. the cedars also appeared in the LL.. He avgeraged 13 a game.
   
Brad Okonak – Lebanon 6’2 sn. …The off guard for the Cedars. He averaged 18 pp game. The D2 recruit showed his range while leading the section and tied for LL honors with 38 threes. An excellent foul shooter as he shot 86% from the line.
   
Joel Pranckun – CV 6 ‘Jn… Joel did a little bit of everything for the Bucks. He handled, dished, and scored. Led the Bucks to an LL berth and a district berth. He produced outstanding numbers as a jn- 18 pp game, 28 threes and 83% from the line.
   
Clinton Simmons – LMHS 6’3″ Sn. ..Clinton’s solid post play gave headaches to Section 2 coaches. One reporter during the LL/districts referred to Simmons as “the best post player in the LL”. Not the biggest or highest jumper, Simmons used both hands and body postion to avg. 16 pp game. When he got fouled, he usually delivered as he had a 73% performance from the line.
   
Jared Yoder – LMHS 6’6″ Sn…Jared was a force on both ends of the floor. His shot blocking ability anchored the stingy LMHS defense. Jared led the Blazers to LL berths and a number one seed in the District 3 3A tournament. He averaged 18 points a game and could score on drives, threes (22 in the LL) and post ups.

 

Coach(es) of the Year

Geoff Groff – LMHS. … Coach Groff led the Blazers to a Section 2 crown. The Blazers had to battle both Lebanon and CV to earn the title. Also, a number one seed in district play.

Paul Blackburn – Lebanon…The Cedars got off to a fast start, then lost a few close games to finish tied for 2nd in Section 2. However, the Cedars made a run in the districts and claimed 3rd overall for a berth in the PIAA tournament for the second year in a row.

 

 


 

 

Section 3

 

 

Luke Gilbert – Columbia 6′ Sn. Luke was a three yr. starter for the Tide. A slasher and a scorer, he was also asked to help handle the ball and played excellent def. Luke aveeraged 16 pp game for the Tide. Luke made ALL def. team for LLCBA.
   
Chris Heisey – Donegal 6′ 1″ Sn. Chris led Section 3 in scoring with a 21 ppg average. He could score inside and out. He led Section 3 with 30 three pointers and shot 78% from the line. Helped Donegal to double digit wins.
   
Billy Orr – Lebanon Cath. 6’5″ Sn. A 1000 point scorer for the Beavers. Billy improved his range and led Leb. Cath to state berth. A three year starter for the Beavers. Excellent post player.
   
Ryan Purvis – Lancaster Cath. 6’4″ Jn.. The inside presence of the unbeaten Crusaders. Ryan averaged 12 pp game while usually sitting out the fourth quarter. LCHS’ leading rebounder and post player. Good post moves and a nice 10-15 jumper.
   
Mike Shatzman – Pequea Valley 6’2″ Jn… Mike averaged 20 pp game. He could take it to the hole or pull up and shot the three ball. He led PV to a 13-9 record. He helped run the point for the Braves. Mike had 21 three’s and shot 80% from the foul line, a place he found himself at often.
   
Greg Testa – Lancaster Cath. 6’1″ Sn…. All everything. Greg led LCHS to first ever LL Championship. His defensive abilities earned him all Def. team for LLCBA. He averaged 18 ppg in section play, 28 threes, and shot 76% from the line. A career 1000 point player. Testa led LCHS to 3 straight LL title games.

 

 

Coach of the Year

Bill Southward – Lancaster Cath. ..Led Crusaders to unbeaten regular season, LL title, District 3 3A title. LCHS had high expectations in the begining of the year and met them and then some.
