(Cover photo provided by Coach Sipe) McCaskey, Hempfield, Cedar Crest, Warwick, Lancaster Catholic, Lebanon, Lancaster Mennonite, Manheim Central? Okay, okay. While maybe the Barons’ historical success on the hardwood — or lack thereof — may not exactly have them shoving others for space at the blue blood table with the some of the names […]
3 miles. That’s the distance between Hershey High School and the nearby Giant Center. A trip so short that they’ve probably made it a million times. Perhaps, but not while riding on a bus while en route to a basketball game that is. Last season, even for those that wouldn’t normally consider themselves to be […]
Listed below are the L-L teams that have reached the District 3 basketball tournament in each of the respective classes. Upcoming games beyond this initial list will be updated and accounted for on both the Scoreboard tab and each respective team’s pages. 6A #16 Manheim Township @ #1 Central Dauphin — 2/17 @ 7pm […]
In their Thursday night game against Lampeter-Strasburg, Manheim Central senior, Chase Book, reached the 1,000-point milestone over the course of his Barons’ career on the hardwood. This season, Book is averaging just a shade under 20 points-per-game (19.7), with his highest scoring output of the season thus far coming in this same L-S game as […]
LLHoops was informed this morning that the entire Manheim Central Hoopfest has been postponed today due to weather conditions. We will provide a later update in the event that any of the day’s original matchups will be played at a future date with our livestream coverage to perhaps be provided as well. Regardless of […]
They were 6-9 coming into the night. They began the season with a 1-5 record overall. Have you been paying attention to them? If not, you probably should. They have one heckuva story to tell. Yes, while it is true that Lancaster Catholic was indeed a full three games under .500 coming into their Thursday […]
The month of December is always a fun one around here when it comes to the world of high school basketball. Sure, aside from a Captain Obvious moment to mention how the 12th month on the calendar is always the first month of the hoops slate starting in full bloom, one of the better features […]
While it’s true to say that all season-openers are special, there are undeniably others that are just a cut above when it comes to storylines and historical significance. And Wednesday night in Manheim could not have been any stronger indication of that notion ringing true. But before we look forward, we must first […]

Article written By John Graham Salisbery’s foul shot with four seconds left in the game gave CV a 48-47 upset victory over Manheim Central in a thriller. It was Manheim Central’s first loss inside the “Derb” which opened up this year. Manheim held a three-point lead with 2:31 left but could not hang on. […]
Section 2 and Section 3 ended up exactly as I thought when I surveyed the landscape at the mid-way point of league play, so catch up on those articles if you want a little more insight into these teams. This is the second of 4 posts previewing each of the Round 1 LL League Play Off Games […]
(Mason Rodgers. LLHoops POG In Manheim Central Win Over Wyomissing In Scoring Game-High 24 Points) Well, as hard as it may to be believe for some, we’ve finally made it. We’ve actually reached that point in the season where we can discuss the topic that some consider to be taboo in some ways—the District […]

Off the Court: The combination of fans in attendance and physical size makes Octorara feel like the smallest gym in the LL (maybe there is technically a smaller one somewhere in section 4). When the student section is locked in you would think it was Cameron Indoor Stadium (I would know, I did my undergrad […]
Is it feasible to call a team that made it to the state playoffs in the 5A ranks a season ago a bit of a surprise just a couple of weeks into this brand-new season? Especially when they graduated all of four players off said team? If so, this 2024-25 Manheim Central Barons outfit might […]
