GOVERNOR MIFFLIN PULLS AWAY FROM CONRAD WEISER 54-43

Written by: Bruce Badgley on December 21, 2017

It was another Berks I vs Berks II matchup in Shillington Thursday night.  Conrad Weiser made the trek to GMIS to take on the Mustangs.  For three quarters the teams mostly traded baskets. But a strong fourth quarter propelled Governor Mifflin to a 54-43 win over Conrad Weiser.

The Mustangs were led in scoring by Ben Walmer and his 14 points.  Opportunistic Darius Copeland and Niggel Brown each had solid performances with 11 each.  Alex Druckenmiller paced the Scouts attack with 13

Mifflin led after quarter one 14-11.  Both teams had trouble getting shots to go down in quarter two and we were tied 18-18 at halftime.

Good shooting from behind the arc helped Weiser stay to within 35-29 after three.  Mifflin controlled the boards and forced key turnovers in quarter four to  capture the victory 54-43.

The Mustangs now (4-1) on the year host Perk Valley Saturday at noon.  Conrad Weiser now (2-4) is at Warwick on the 28th.
