TAYLOR – Dunmore clinched the Lackawanna League Division 3 Championship with 52-40 win over Riverside. The Lady Vikes suffered just their second loss of the season, both coming to the Lady Bucks.
A strong defensive start to the game slowed both offenses on the night. A 10-3 run capped by a triple from Mia Blume would give the Lady Bucks a 23-14 advantage heading into halftime.
In the third quarter, Kylie Lavelle scored all 11 points for Riverside as they attempted to pull the game closer. However, three buckets from Ciera Toomey and three Dunmore triples would prove too much as the Lady Bucks would increase their lead heading into the final period.
Dunmore would convert 10 of their 13 chances from the charity stripe in the 4th quarter as the Lady Bucks held off Riverside in their division clinching win.
Moriah Murray would lead the Lady Bucks with 20 points on the night. Toomey added 15 points for her team in the win.
Riverside would only have four players on the scoresheet, led by Lavelle with 20 points and Leah Hodick with 13.
