Warwick 58 Lebanon 49: Wrap via Randy Barry

The rubber match that wasn’t, Section 2 rivals met up Tuesday night In Lititz for a tilt only this time it was win or go home. For Lebanon it ended up being the latter. For the first quarter Warwick played their game and made the shots, Lebanon got a few quick three’s to start the game from Adrain Cruz & Marquis Ferreria, but went blank for a long stretch of time in the first half. Warwick lead by Tate Landis who was the Warrors leading scorer kept making baskets from beyond the arch. And getting to free throw line multiple times which only increased the lead. Warwick and their stingy defense held Lebanon’s 2 top scorers in check while in turn on the other end of the court got easy looks inside and out and which at one point got the lead to 14. But as it may Lebanon keep trying to make a mini comeback here and there but never could overcome the early hole they dug themselves in.
As the second half got underway Lebanon lead by senior guards Adrain Cruz & Marquis Ferreria, started to make a difference on offense, Cruz from outside finally find his stride from outside & Ferreira who’s the Leader on this team willed them to get within 8 at one point. Lebanon started pressing Warwick into fouls which the ever composed Warriors hadn’t done in the first half now have creeped into the second half. Warwick would call a couple timeouts to regather themselves and when they came out the time outs they continued to lock the Cedars down with that stingy defense and came to light and keep the lead to 10. Warwick held a 12 point lead going into the 4th but Warwick seemed to have the Cedars number and they where not backing down. No matter what the Cedars did by pressing more and getting turnovers it wasn’t enough. Give credit to the Cedars on another great season after coming off a
LL title just a year ago but it wasn’t in the cards in 2022. Warwick now will face off with #2 seed Cumberland Valley (18-5) out of the Mighty Mid Penn on Friday night.
