Andy’s Take

There are some out there who will say that the postseason is in theory a “second season.” Or, more succinctly put, a second chance to try and make amends for previous shortcomings that occurred earlier during the season. And man alive, did Cedar Crest’s trip over to Wilson on Tuesday night fit ever that description […]

When we make comments that usually are along the lines of “The future of Lancaster-Lebanon League boys’ basketball is incredibly bright,” yes, while we may indirectly be talking about the players inside of the conference most specifically, it’d be extremely foolish to overlook the work of the many young coaches that the league can also […]

In order to accurately move forward in helping to better tell this story, we must first go back. Like two years’ worth of going back that is. Sure, while seeing the Hempfield Black Knights emerge to the surface of the eventual Lancaster-Lebanon League title game isn’t necessarily a new phenomenon by any stretch of the […]

If the old adage is that you want to be playing your best ball of the season at the most critical juncture, you can best believe that the two teams who made up the finale of the twin-bill of league semifinal contests at Conestoga Valley on Wednesday happened to fit that description to a T. […]

For all the unique and just overall special things that helps set the Lancaster-Lebanon League tournament apart from its other competitors found within District 3, matchups like this are the reason why. You see, having a Section One team saunter into the home gym of a Section Four team isn’t a scene you’d likely see […]

For years, this was a series that had laid dormant. As hard as it may be to believe to those on the outside, especially given how the two districts share a border with one another, but Manheim Central and Warwick never really interacted with one another on the hardwood come the winter months. Sure, while […]

Once you reach this part of the season when the number of days, much less the number of remaining games can essentially be counted on one hand in fact, it’d be nothing if not understandable as to why some of the more “feel good” stories found inside the Lancaster-Lebanon League boys’ basketball trail may now […]

If you’ve operated in this line of work for any great length of time, chances are that you already know how wild and tumultuous the journey of a high school basketball season can be. And while they surely wouldn’t like to be the experts on such a phenomenon, rest assured that the Manheim Central Barons […]

With just a handful of days left in the high school basketball regular season, it’s understandable as to why some teams are already having visions of grandeur when it comes to dreaming of the weeks yet to unfold which will surely include an excursion into the postseason for those exclusive members. Cumberland Valley of course […]

It’s downright crazy to fathom this, but a quick look at the calendar shows that the end of the regular season is fast approaching. As in a matter of days fast approaching to be exact. And sure, while some teams are either sitting pretty, or trying to reach for their favorite stress reliever of choice […]

As is typically the case most every season, sometimes just a change in scenery can make a world of difference for a team. Or, more specifically, a change in the calendar if you will. For Annville-Cleona’s boys’ hoops squad, you’d understand as to why they were probably just as excited to watch the ball drop […]

If the prevailing notion posed by some (okay, perhaps just by yours truly most specifically) is that the road to the Section Two title entirely goes through Lititz this season, that very theme may have certainly been on display here of late. However, maybe not exactly in the manner that you would originally have suspected. […]

It’s finally time. Yes, with just a handful of weeks left to go inside the regular season, it’s time to take a gander at those District 3 power rankings once and for all. And as is typically the case, the big boys, those residing in the 6A world, generally happen to steal the show in […]

The last time we saw the Cocalico Eagles live and in action, their season was at a bit of a fork in the road if you will. Sure, that probably seems blasphemous on the surface considering that the Eagles were squarely staring down the barrel of a 3-0 start to section play –a start which […]

Apologies in advance for not knowing the number specifically, but let’s just keep it simple when we say that there have been more than a few basketball games played across the Lancaster-Lebanon League so far this season. And within that overwhelmingly large cluster of contests, there are a certain few that seem to stand out […]
