Questions
- Why did you decide to start playing basketball?
“I have two older sisters and three younger brothers who have all been involved in playing different sports, so as I grew up, I was around sports a lot and played different sports like baseball and soccer. I always had a love for basketball at a young age and my dad helped me get into it and coached me most of my childhood. I started playing when I was 5 years old in our youth league then moved into travel teams and then to AAU.”
- What’s your favorite part of the game of basketball?
“The relationships the game has let me experience. Being able to play with a great group of guys who all get after it and want to win. All the great coaches that have had an impact on my life. I would say basketball has created very special bonds that I don’t get anywhere else.”
- What NBA/College basketball player do you model your game after and why?
“I would say Jimmy Butler because he uses his body very well and gets to his spots. He is a very versatile player and a hard worker. Also, I’m a 76ers fan so watching him play for them, I just naturally watched his game.”
- What’s your favorite moment from your high school basketball career up to this point?
“It had been a while since Solanco had won its Holiday tournament. In my sophomore year we were in the final game, we were down by 1 with less than 20 seconds left. I was able to catch the ball up top and drive my defender to the basket and score to give us the lead and we won. Celebrating with my teammates is something I will always remember.”
- What are your goals for the upcoming 2024-2025 high school basketball season?
“My team goals are to obviously win the section and make playoffs. Personally, I want to score 1,000 points and earn first team all-league.”
- What are your plans for after high school?
“I plan on continuing my academic and basketball career in college. I’m looking into pursuing a major in computer information systems and communications. To date, I am thankful for being able to visit and meet with some great coaches and programs. I am blessed to have opportunities to play in college and continue to explore the best options.”
