There are programs in the L-L League. There are also franchises. This one is more the latter than the former.

To be sure, when the Lebanon Cedars make a move, the ground shakes as a result. Quite frankly, it’s a program that has earned that right over time considering the Cedars’ lineage. That can be brought up by any number of different metrics, but we’ll keep it concise and highlight Lebanon’s nine L-L League championships, along with 26 league playoff appearances all-time, both of which put them below only McCaskey in terms of tops in conference history.

Suffice to say, when there’s change at the top in Lebanon city, it’s bound to get noticed. Well, say hello to new head man, William Bracey.

We recently had the chance to meet up with Coach over Zoom to discuss a litany of different topics. Among them, his Lebanon roots, coming down from the “Skook”, assessing the roster and outlook for this upcoming season, along with the interesting timeline of events that found him not just with a new boss than the one who had hired him, but one who is already in the Lebanon Hall of Fame for coaching the very same boys’ basketball program, who also oh by the way just reached a state championship about 18 months ago, albeit at a different school just up the road. We also had to of course touch on that storied Lebanon history, including what the program has in mind for some cool events coming up (Hint: It involves someone who was picked before what many consider to be greatest human to ever pick up a basketball in the NBA Draft).

We look forward to watching the Bracey era at Lebanon High unfold over time.

Enjoy
