Questions

  1. Why did you decide to start playing basketball?

“I decided to start playing basketball mostly because I was taller than most at a young age and everyone told me to give it a shot. I started out playing at my local YMCA and I found it fun. I think when I started playing in the elementary rec leagues, where I could get away with scoring a bunch of points, was when it really stuck with me. I always hated the slow-scoring sports at a young age so basketball was my best bet.”

  1. What’s your favorite part of the game of basketball?

“I would say my favorite part of the game of basketball is getting to be a part of a team. I think the beautiful thing about winning and losing is being able to do it with people you’re friends with and learn from it as a group. The grind of basketball is a lot simpler when you have others around you who are going to push you like you push them. To be honest, winning is a lot more fun when you have others to celebrate with.”

  1. What NBA/College basketball player do you model your game after and why?

“I would say I model my game after Scottie Barnes. I’ve always liked how Scottie is a wing who plays on all three levels. He shoots the three, he can attack the basket, he will post up, and he even shoots pull-ups. I think the fact that I can do all those things throws my defenders off and makes me someone who’s pretty complicated to guard. I also like the fact that Scottie works on the defensive end, something that I have been really trying to pride myself in.”

  1. What’s your favorite moment from your high school basketball career up to this point?

“I would definitely say my favorite moment from my high school basketball career was scoring 25 points at Ephrata last year. It was a Blue Ridge (TV) game and it was pretty packed in the gym. I’ve always liked the games where the crowd is super loud. The atmosphere that day was just amazing and the fact that it was a rivalry game made it all the better.”

  1. What are your goals for the upcoming 2024-2025 high school basketball season?

My goals for this upcoming basketball season are pretty simple. All I want to do is win. It’s my last year to finally make a playoff appearance and I think I have the team around me to make all three types (league, district, and state) of playoffs and take a shot at the L-L League Section 2 title. I missed my first year which makes this hard but 1,000 career points is something that’s in the air too.”

  1. What are your plans for after high school?

“My plan for after high school is to go to college and play basketball. I am very thankful that I have multiple options to choose from at this point. I’m hoping to have it figured out before this upcoming season. I’d like to study biology and become some type of health professional in the future.”
