Questions

  1. Why did you decide to start playing basketball?

“My brother is the one that really got me into it. He graduated in 2013 so I watched him play at L-S with some really good teams when I was young. I have 3 brothers that were all into sports and one even coached basketball in college, so I just kind of grew up around it and loved it ever since. That brother that I watched growing up is now our assistant too, so it’s a really cool full circle moment that he gets to coach me and we can be together.”

  1. What’s your favorite part of the game of basketball?

“My favorite part is how fast the game is and how much IQ and pace plays into the game. Learning how to make reads and playing up and down the court the whole time without much stoppage makes the game exciting and fun. I take pride in being a smart player and being able to run an offense and communicate on defense, so I think that makes the game unique and fun.”

  1. What NBA/College basketball player do you model your game after and why?

“I don’t really model my game after anyone specific, but I really enjoy watching the small guards in the league. Three of my favorite players are Kyrie Irving, Donovan Mitchell, and Jalen Brunson. I do like to study Elliot Cadeau at North Carolina, he’s a really crafty and smart small guard that I can relate to. I’ve been watching him since he was in high school.”

  1. What’s your favorite moment from your high school basketball career up to this point?

“I loved my whole freshman season when we went 28-1 and won the league and district championship. Those guys were amazing and taught me so much. But I think my favorite moment was my 33-point game to start the year last year against Hempfield, that was a really cool moment for me.”

  1. What are your goals for the upcoming 2024-2025 high school basketball season?

“As a team our goal is always to defend the section and give ourselves a shot at the league. I believe we have a great group of guys that understand their role and could let us do that. Personally, I’m closing in on 1000 points so I would love to reach that and also have a really efficient scoring season. All-State is also one of my main goals.”

  1. What are your plans for after high school?

“I’m going to continue playing basketball in college. I’m not decided yet but I’m thankful to have many options to choose from and find the right spot for me.”
