BERKS CATHOLIC NO TROUBLE WITH TWIN VALLEY 50-34.

Written by: Bruce Badgley on January 2, 2018

Berks Catholic and Twin Valley opened up Berks II play at the home of the Raiders Tuesday night.  The Saints winners of five of their last six.  Twin Valley was in a bit of a tail spin losing four in a row.  The Saints started out fast an never looked back.  Berks Catholic looked quite impressive while dispatching Twin Valley 50-34.

Casey Jack had the hot hand for BC. Casey sent down 16 points  Keba Mitchell was Mr inside for the Saints.  Keba ruled the paint with multiple blocks and 10 points  Freshman Noah Toole’s 11 points paced Twin Valley.  Noah connected was 7 for 9 on free throw attempts.

Berks Catholic wasted little time in getting an early sizable lead.  The Saints also clogged the paint to stymy Raiders Center Jeremy Deihm’s work inside.  With 2:41 left in quarter one BC was up 16-0 and kept on the pressure.  Quarter one ended with Berks Catholic pitching a shut out 18-0  Finally in quarter two the Raiders got some offensive rhythm.  But for every TV run, there was a BC answer  We went to the break with Berks Catholic up 31-11.

Both teams traded baskets for most of quarter three. The Saints took advantage of some late third quarter carelessness and moved the margin to 47-21 after three.  Most of quarter four the coaches emptied the benches  The final was Berks Catholic 50 Twin Valley 34

Riding a three game winning streak, the (7-2) Berks Catholic Saints  host Berks II opponent Conrad Weiser on Friday. Thursday Twin Valley (2-7) hosts Wyomissing in a Berks II bash.
