(Mechanicsburg) Playing for the District 3 Girls Championship has been part of the plan the last few years at Cumberland Valley. But Tuesday nights hard fought semifinal did show that the dominant Lady Eagles were human.  Into the “Dome” came a confident Central York squad.  The Lady Panthers upset semifinal victory was ordained if you asked anyone associated with Central York. Something had to give. The Lady Eagles jumped out to a quick lead in the opening quarter.  Cumberland Valley then ramped the up tempo game and pulled away from Central York 64-41 in the District 3 6A Title game.  This was Cumberland Valleys fourth District title on the last seven years.

The future sure looks bright for Cumberland Valley . Freshman Jill Jekot lead the way with 16 points.  Sophomore Reagan Basehore had 13 points as well as Julie Jekot.  Sarah Berman closed out her career at Central York with a game high 19 points.

Before Central Your knew what hit them Cumberland Valley jumped out to a lead and a 17-3 advantage after one quarter.

Central York began to put things together in quarter two.  Cumberland Valley kept up its good offensive flow and maintained a 31-20 lead at the break.

The Lady Eagles came out on a mission after the break.  Cumberland Valley put this one away by the end of the third quarter leading 52-27 over Central York.

Cumberland Valley coasted in the fourth quarter to come away with the District Title.
