Governor Mifflin Girls Bounce Ephrata 57-33, Mollica Tops 1,000 Career Points For The Mustangs

(Ephrata)  When you get this deep in a win or go home tournament things are supposed to get tense.  With so much on the line its easy to see how teams can buckle under the pressure.  Well if Governor Mifflin felt any pressure Thursday night heading to Ephrata for a District Three basketball game you would never have known it.  Playing loose and relaxed, the Mustangs shot exceptional from the field. On defense Mifflin seemed to know where Ephrata was going before the Mounts did.  The Mustangs broke from the gate quickly, then pulled away from Ephrata in quarter three for a 57-33 PIAA District 3 Quarterfinal win.  The highlight of the game was Mifflin standout Stella Mollica crossing the 1,000 career point milestone.  Governor Mifflin moves on to play Cumberland Valley in a Semifinal game on Tuesday.

Both Mifflin and Ephrata were dialed on from the three point line in quarter one.  The Mustangs were up 11-6 after one quarter.

And then in quarter two the Mifflin three barrage started.  When the smoke cleared at halftime the Mustangs led 27-12.

Lets not forget about the Mifflin Defense tonight.  The Mustangs held Ephrata to only 6 third quarter points and broke the game wide open. Stella Mollica also went over  the 1,000 career point barrier as well.

Governor Mifflin coasted through quarter four and won going away 57-33
