Governor Mifflin Girls No Trouble With Dallastown 49-28 In District 3 Opener

(Shillington) “Connecting the dots” between the Governor Mifflin -Dallastown District opener  looked much closer than a 5 -12 seed matchup.  Both teams  had common opponents and faced tough in conference schedules.  Governor Mifflin started out like the higher seeded team and played that way the entire game.  Mifflin bolted out to a first quarter lead and never looked back defeating Dallastown 49-28.

Stella Mollica who is closing in on the 1,000 point milestone finished with 19 points to lead Mifflin.  Stella will need 8 points against Ephrata on Thursday to reach 1,000 points for her career.  Bria Beverly closed out her career at Dallastown with a 12 point game for the Wildcats.

The first quarter was indicative on how this game would go.  Hot shooting Mifflin kept on the pressure.  Dallastown had a tough time getting any shot to go through the hoop.

Mifflin kept up its hot shooting in quarter two.  The Mustangs went into halftime on top of the Wildcats 24-11.

Dallastown and Governor Mifflin went back in forth in quarter three.  Mifflin was up 13 going into the 4th quarter 33-20.

The Mustangs never let Dallastown threaten the lead in quarter four.  Mifflin moves on in the District Three tournament with a 49-28.
