(Shillington) Every game matters for every team this late in the regular season.  Whether a team is trying to improve its post season seeding, or just trying to get into the post season, most late season matchups mean so very much.  In the case of Governor Mifflin and Berks Catholic both teams are coming down the stretch trying to qualify for post season action. Governor Mifflin (7-8) held nine point halftime lead. Berks Catholic (5-10) pulled to within one point in the fourth quarter,  but solid free throw shooting down the stretch propelled the Mustangs to a 44-40 win Tuesday night.

Matt Gehris led the way for Mifflin with 14 and Greg Suber chipped in 10.  Josiah Jordan had 14 to lead Berks Catholic.

Both teams came out with some tough defensive pressure  Mifflin held a 10-6 advantage after the first quarter.

Mifflin kept up the pressure in quarter two.  The Mustangs moved its advantage to 21-12 at halftime.

The third quarter was back and forth the whole way.  BC pulled to within one, but we went to the fourth quarter with Mifflin on top 32-25.

Berks Catholic kept chipping away at the lead in the final quarter.  Mifflin made some key field goals and free throws and hung on for a 44-40 win.
