Lancaster Catholic Handles Manhiem Township 53-45

Written by: Bruce Badgley on February 8, 2020

It is not a stretch to think both Lancaster Catholic and Manhiem Township could be the Lancaster-Lebanon League Girls tournament champion. They faced off in a hotly contested energy charged quarterfinal game Saturday evening. When the dust settled on this physical, emotional game the Crusaders moved on 53-45 over the Blue Streaks.

Two girls performances really stood out. The Crusaders Sommer Reeser led all scorers with 25 points. Township’s Katie Bushong did everything on the court and tallied 22.

The fans and the teams started fast in quarter one.

Quarter two was back and forth  Township held the lead 23-20 at the break

And the beat of tough physical play went on in quarter three  LC really put the clamps on the Township offense and led 36-30 going to the fourth quarter

The Crusaders tight defense and good free throw shooting were the difference in quarter four  Lancaster Catholic came out on top 53-45 over Manhiem Township
