Reading High Stifles Muhlenberg 75-55 in District 3 Semifinal

(Reading High) When you know one another as well as Reading High and Muhlenberg know one another there are no surprises. There are no tricks. There are no brilliant Coaching moves. Its just all about the basics. Mano y Mano, and how each team can impose their will on the opponent. And impose ones will is what Reading High did to Muhlenberg Wednesday night. Reading played it’s patented 94 foot pressure, half court trapping defensive style to perfection. Coupled with an aggressive, balanced offensive attack, Reading High proved to much for Muhlenberg winning 75-55 in the District Three 6A semifinal game. Across town, Wilson had no trouble with Central Dauphin so its a Reading-Wilson rematch for the District Three 6A Title Friday night.
When I said balanced Reading offensive attack I meant it. Daniela Alcantara let the way 16 for the Red Knights 15 each for Ruben Rodriguez and Rene Rodriguez. Senior Erron Archie closed out his sparkling Muhlenberg career leading
Well Daniel Alcantara led @RDGschools with 16 and Sr Erron Archie led @mhsboysball with 15. And now….the scorebook pics! @LLhoops #berksbeat https://t.co/VwNgJ7QHlX pic.twitter.com/4cNSiI07bh

Reading really stepped up the defense in quarter two Muhlenberg had a very difficult time settling into any offensive flow. The Red Knights had their first of three consecutive 21 point quarters in the game to lead 33-24 at halftime.

Muhlenberg had the lead down to three in quarter three. But Reading would have none of that. The Red Knights relentlessly began attacking the basket the rest of the quarter and moved the lead to 54-41 going to quarter four
