(Shillington) As  two time defending BCIAA  Tournament Champions Governor Mifflin came into this years tournament with a big target on their back.  Wyomissing entered Wednesday Nights action off a tight first round win.  The Spartans have been a tough out all season long.  Wyomissing Head Coach  Aaron Anders had his team in a stingy zone defense most of the night. Coach Anders spirited Lady Spartans led for most of regulation. The contest took OT to settle, but Wyomissing (12-5)  came away with a 50-48 overtime win over Governor Mifflin (15-5)   Wyomissing will take on Berks Catholic Friday for the BCIAA Tournament Championship.

Abby Doyle who hit the game winning free throws with :02.4 seconds left in OT led Wyomissing in scoring with 20 points.  Jocelyn Grosch paced the Mustangs with 17.

Governor Mifflin just could not put together any offensive flow in the first quarter.  Wyomissing pumped in 5 first quarter three pointers and led 19-16 after one quarter.

The Wyomissing zone continued to disrupt the Governor Mifflin offensive flow in quarter two.  Wyomissing cooled off somewhat from the field but still held a 29-26 lead at the break.

Neither team backed down in quarter three.  Wyomissing kept up its hot shooting and extended the lead to 43-37 over Mifflin as we went to quarter four.

Mifflin closed the gap quickly in quarter four and took the lead with 5:22 left.  In the bonus Mifflin took the air out of the ball.  Wyomissing was the only team to score a point in the final 5:22 seconds of the game and we went to OT tied at 44. Each team had a good shot to win in the final seconds.

Wyomissing was six for six from the free throw line in the OT Abby Doyle hit the game winners with ;02.4 seconds left to send Wyomissing to the BCIAA Championship game.
