Some thoughts:

The game was audio streamed- click here for replay. There is also paly by play on the chat by Andy Herr. You can follow the game via the live chat while listening to the game.

Cocalico was averaging 48 points per game on both ends of the floor. The Eagles were over on the average on the offensive end and under on the defensive end-that my friends, equals a ‘W’. Cocalico came out on fire-popping 4 threes (2 each by Carter Nuneville- 6’2” jn and Tyler Cloud- 6’ sn.) in the first period. The inside game was working as well. The Eagles used their height to get the ball inside on a hi-lo set to set the tone for the game.

The Eagles led 18-8 after the first period.

Lancaster Mennonite would put on a mini -blitz midway thru the second period. Cole Fisher, 6’2” jn led the run with several drives to the basket. Cole would twist and turn and get to the rack with both his left hand and right. Cocalico would answer with a 7-2 run- 2 fouls by Nuneville, a triple by Cloud, and a layup by Augie Gerhart, 6’3” soph, off a sweet assist by Trey Rios. 30-18 at the break.

Cocalico set the tone by winning the battle of the boards:15-7 and had 4 key big-time blocks. The only thing that was keeping LMHS in the game was several turnovers by the Eagles in the half.

LMHS would cut the lead to 34-25 midway thru the 3rd only to see Cocalico rip off the last 8 points- capped off by a Nuneville three-ball. 42-25 after three.

LMHS continued to battle. The Blazers went on a 9-0 run. Jaeden McFadden, 5’9” jn, hit 2 fouls and a layup to cut the lead to 43-34. The Eagles would answer again- Nuneville bucket followed up by a nice play by Augie Gerhart, with another sweet assist by Rios. The Eagles would coast home with a 55-43 W.
