Both teams entered the game with identical 2-1 records. Both teams feature new LL head coaches. Both teams have had some real good W’s this season. After the dust settled, the Donegal Indians were stronger on the boards and overcame a major scoring drought in the 4th to claim the victory.

Donegal had 2 players (Evan Patel 6’1” jn and Noah Roher 5’11” sn) pitch in with 8 points in the 1st quarter. Deandre White scored late in the 1st as the Indians took a 18-8 lead into the second period, Both teams started out in man-to-man, and the Solanco Mules mixed in a little 1-3-1 half court trap towards the end of the 1st. The Indians also controlled the boards (7-1).

Noah Baber, 6’1” sn, scored 6 points by posting and making nice moves around the basket to lead the Mules in the second period. Solanco couldn’t score enough to cut into the Donegal lead. Noah Rohrer, 5’11” sn, popped a three-ball for the Indians at the 3:00 mark, which would end the scoring for Donegal. Tyler Burger would bank in a fouls shot at the :57 second mark to end the scoring at 24-17.

The Indians continued to control the boards in the 3rd. Solanco couldn’t string together any runs. James Turbedsky netted 6 points in the quarter as the Indians demonstrated a balanced attack all night. 38-25 after 3.

The Donegal would go on a scoring drought in the 4th. The Indians would not score for 6 1/2 minutes. Enter LLhoops player of the game- Dutch Good 6’ sn. Mr. Good hit 3 one-and-ones down the stretch as the Mules had to foul to try to win the game. Solanco cut the lead to 7 at 38-31 with 1:47 mark but never had enough to put pressure on the Indians.

Sidelines…There was a nice crowd at Donegal. Stundents collected for cancer research at halftime. The fans for the Indians had gold out shirts on- impressive…Had visits from Coach Jim Shipper , CV, and ex head coach and principal, Scott Long, from Solanco. ..LLhoops beanies continue to be a big hit- seems like the LL refs like em, a LOT :)…Spent some time with long time score keeper, Mike Beddi, for Donegal…the first ever , father vs son coaching match up will occur on Dec. 13 and Jim (CV) travels to Ryan (Donegal). We heard that mom shipper is going to sit in the exact middle of the stands!
