Girls PIAA Finals: Scores/Schedule March 25-27

Ed note: Here is the schedule for the girls games at Hershey the weekend of March 25. We will update scores during the weekend. Bruce Badgley (@small_play) scored some zoom interviews with some of the final’s coaches. Bruce and Dell will be calling the girls games on NFHS network. Mt. Carmel 54 vs. Neshannock 43

Mt Carmel clinched its first ever PIAA 2A girls championship at Hershey. The Tornado lost a top player, Lauren Ayres, due to injury early, but used its height advantage on the post to claim the title.Lauren Shedleski (10pts), Dani Rae Renno (24pts), and Alyssa Dissinger (13 pts) all posted double digit point totals. Renno had 24 its and 10 boards for a double-double. Neshannock (7-1) closed the gap to 6 in the 4th quarter, but the Lancers could never get it closer than that. The Lancers placed Neleh Nogay (11pts), Addilae Watts (10 pts), and Mairan Haqgerty (12 pts) in double figures for the game.
