These teams met on Feb 6th with Millersburg beating the Blazers by a score of 76 – 65. In the first game, high scoring C Bingaman 5’11” sn. burned the nets for 41. Lancaster Mennonite was without high-scoring Cole Fisher. With Bingaman (sorry I did not get his first name) on the sidelines with an injury suffered at the last game, and Fisher back on the court for the Blazers, LMHS cruised to a 71-59 win.

Basically, both teams scored at will early. The Blazers got out to an 8-2 lead to start the game, keyed by ever-improving big man, David Weaver – 6’6” soph. Millersburg would right the ship, so to speak, with 5 different players scoring in the quarter. T Entzweiter netted 6 points for the visitors. LMHS would answer with 3 three-balls in the quarter (Fisher with 2 and Cam Hurst hit 1- big one at the buzzer) 23-16 after one.

LMHS started driving and dishing vs. the Millersburg 2-3 zone. Hurst doing most of the damage- he finished at the rack most times using both his left and right hand for quick scoring drives. Excellent pressure defense by David Shell-5’10” soph- led to a steal and layup to end the Blazers scoring in the second. 38-29 at the half.

Jaeden McFadden would have himself a nice third. McFadden scored a three ball, a follow, a drive and collected several offensive boards. The Blazers were dominant in the third period controlling both ends – 15-4 for the quarter. 54-35 at the end of 4.

To their credit, Millersburg played tough to the end. The ‘burg could never string together a big enough run to put a lot of pressure on the Blazers, but managed to cut the score as close as it got at the end.
