McCaskey Tournament: mini wraps- LS/York & Harrisburg /McCaskey

McCaskey Holiday Tournament
The LL teams lost both of their games tonight. LS had scoreless third as York coasted to a 62-39 victory. In the night cap, Harrisburg’s pressure kept McCaskey from mounting a comeback in the second half. The Cougars took the game 82-70.
York 62 LS 39
LS Put together a 7-0 run at the end of quarter 1 to take an 11-5 lead. The Pioneers battled York on the boards and kept the Bearcats from scoring and hence not being able to get into their press defense. LS nailed 4 three-balls in the 2nd quarter to take a 28-21 lead at the break.
Juelz Tucker, 5’11” guard for York, basically took over the game. He scored on layups, he dished, and he hit his outside shots. As York kept scoring, the Bearcats turned up the defensive pressure on the Pioneers. In a rare quarter shutout, York put together a 22-0 run to take control of the game.
York would put together a 9-0 run early in the 4th and coasted home with the win.

Harrisburg 82 McCaskey 70
McCaskey led 8-0 early (Jared Kumah drive, a Kamryn Pugh triple, and an Aiden Burgess three-ball) Then the Cougars cranked up the defensive pressure forcing 11 McCaskey miscues in the first. The quarter ended with Harrisburg up 20-11.
Every time it appeared that Harrisburg would pull away, the Tornado would come back. Harrisburg took a 32-15 lead in the middle of the second stanza. McCaskey started breaking the traps that the Burg was showing. McCaskey put together a 20-8 run to end the quarter mainly on Kumah drives and one, and 2 three-balls by DeAndre Jones. Harrisburg scored late on a bucket by Quincy Brannon. 40-37 at the break.
Harrisburg would again get a nice lead 54-42 midway their the third. The quarter ended with Harrisburg with a 63-56 lead heading into the 4th.
Harrisburg started the 4th on a 7-0 run to basically keep McCaskey at arms length. McCaskey never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
