Tip off tournaments are usually games of adjustments. Usually (wasn’t that just used?), teams struggle a bit on the offensive end. Usually…However Muhlenberg looked like a team in mid-season form as the Mules were tough n both ends of the floors. Muhlenberg plays fast..and furious. They put pressure on the defensive end using full court man mixed in with some run and jump. On the offensive end, the Mules constantly got to the rack and mixed in some good three point shooting. The Streaks were a bit shorthanded as they relied on the three ball to score a lot of their points.

TWP scored first for its only lead of the game on a layup by Bennett Parmer, 6’ sn.
Muhlenberg would run out to a 6-2 lead early. TWP tied it up at 10 on a put back by Parmer.
The Mules ripped off a 13-5 run to end the quarter 23-17.

The Mules continued to pout the pressure on the Streaks in the second stanza. Jordan Pettigrow, 5’7″ jn, tossed in 3 three-balls to keep TWP within striking distance, but Alex Collado scored in multiple ways as he netted 10 in the quarter for the Berg. 43-32 Muhlenberg at the break.

TWP cut the lead to 8 on a 3-ball by Rock Mack at the 4:35 mark of the third. Muhlenberg kept the defensive pressure on forcing 6 turnovers in the quarter, resulting in a 14-5 run to end the third at 65-48.

There was little drama in the 4th as Muhlenberg coasted to first night W and into the finals against Central Dauphin.

Sidelines…TWP will play Lower Dauphin in the first game Dec. 2. Muhlenberg will take on Central Dauphin. ..Ex-head coach at Reading, Rick Perez, was on the bench as an assistant for Muhlenberg. He started the game with a tie on…didn’t take long for the tie to be undone 🙂
