(Reading) Records mean absolutely nothing at this stage of the basketball season. It is all about survive and advance. Octorara and Berks Catholic strapped it up and went toe to toe for a berth in the district 3 4A Championship game Monday night.  Both teams left it all on the court and when the smoke cleared Berks Catholic came away with a 53-47 win and a date with fellow Berks League foe Fleetwood in the District 3 4A Championship game Thursday.

Senior JayJay Jordan led the way for Berks Catholic.  “We hoped off that bus last year after winning a championship last year and I told my teammates I would not let them down, I will be back.”  Well back for consecutive District 4A Championships is Berks Catholic for the 2nd time in school history.  The Saints meet a familiar foe in Fleetwood from the Berks League on Thursday.

Berks Catholic jumped out early, but it was a two-point game after one.

Neither team backed down on quarter two.  Octorara held a slim 25-24 lead at the half.

The Saints took control in quarter three and BC was on top going to the final stanza.

Octorara never gave up, but BC never let them take control in quarter four.  The Saints move on in the district 3 tournament.
