Dallas Gets Season Sweep Over Pittston Area

Dallas Lady Mounts 47, Pittston Area Lady Patriots 31

PITTSTON— Dallas used a big 4th quarter in which they nearly doubled their point total to secure the win and get a season sweep over Pittston Area, 47-31.

In the first half, Dallas struggled from the field, only making four baskets (all triples) including just four points in the second period. Jada Sharp hit back-to-back triples for Pittston Area to begin the second stanza to cut the deficit down to two. Sharp would give the Lady Patriots another FG, but that was all the offense that they could muster in the half as PA trailed the Lady Mountaineers 17-13 at the break.

Coming out of intermission, Pittston Area was able to attack the basket with more success. Lauren Charlton would score all 7 points for Dallas in the 3rd quarter as the Lady Mountaineers watched their lead dwindle to just three points entering the final period.

Dallas’ offense would change dramatically to start the fourth as they went on a 10-0 run to bolster their lead.

Charlton and Sharp would each account for more than half of their total team points, Charlton with 24 and Sharp with 16.

The win by Dallas keeps them right on the heels of Hazleton Area as they trail by one game for the WVC Division 1 title race. The Lady Mountaineers will travel to Hazleton Area on February 4th to face the Lady Cougars.
