The Daily Item
For the first time at The Daily Item, we’re going to bring you Pennsylvania boys’ basketball rankings and we’re going to feature listingsof all six classifications.
Since the regular season gets underway tonight, our first collection is a preseason package formulated by combining last season’s results, notable returning players, projections, deductive reasoning and, of course, a good bit of guesswork.
So, enjoy, ponder and even squawk.
If you feel we’ve overlooked a deserving squad, let us know but be ready to justify your reasoning. It’s early, so there’s plenty more results to come.
We’ll be back every week — our next update will arrive on Dec. 17 — with our rankings appearing on Mondays or Tuesdays.
Appearing below are all six of our top 10s, with PIAA district and last season’s record displayed in parentheses. Only those schools competing for PIAA state championships are eligible for ranking purposes.
