Where we stand…LL will have a playoff for first place if a tie at the end of the season.
Second slots are ALL determined by tie breakers.
Section 1
Hempfield takes control. The Knights have a 2 game lead over TWP and Cedar Crest. The Knights host TWP this week and could clinch a Section 1 title with a W. The intrigue in Section 1 will be in the second slot. Crest and TWP are tied. TWP has games with Hempfield, Penn Manor and Cedar Crest…Crest has games with Penn Manor, McCaskey and TWP. The last Section 1 slot could be determined in the last game of the year. Crest @ TWP Feb 8th.
Section 2
Warwick is in control. The Warriors are up 2 over Etown and Lebanon. Warwick has games with CV and Lebanon- with one win they would clinch the Section2 crown. As with Section 1, the contest for second slot in the LL’s will be determined by Etown and Lebanon. Both teams face off this Tues at Etown. Lebanon has 3 games left- @ Etown, @ Warwick and home vs. CV. The Cedars suffered back-to-back OT losses this past week (TWP and CV-3OT).
Section 3
LS clinched the Section 3 crown this week. For good measure the Pios minus high scoring guard, Ty Burton, defeated Etown 55-42 this past weekend. Manheim Central is second followed closely by Garden Spot. Central’s last games are: @ Spot, @ Solanco and vs Cocalico. Spot’s; vs Man. Central, @ELCO, @LS.
Section 4
ELCO won a tough game vs Donegal (48-44) to keep its 2 game lead in the section. Octorara claimed a big win on the road vs. Lanc. Cath. (68-60). Gene Lambert’s group is making a late charge – riding a 4 game winning streak into the week. Can anyone count out Lancaster Catholic? The Crusaders are battling to keep a long streak of LL playoff slot in tack.
Section 5
Columbia is in the lead with a one game cushion over Lancaster Mennonite. Columbia lost its first overall game this weekend to a powerful Executive Education Academy team that featured some D1 talent. LMHS was back at full strength as top scoring Cam Hurst returned to the lineup recovering from an injury. LMHS travels to Columbia on Feb. 7th. for what should determine the Section 5 champ. With a win on the road, LMHS would force a playoff game.
LL playoffs
HERE is the Boys Bracket
LLhoops will be live streaming the boys and girls finals this season. We will also be producing boys games on Feb 14 and 16. Games to be determined. The LL playoffs should be very competitive this season.

LLhoops website updates
We were down last weekend for a few days. Needless to say this is very frustrating. Part of the issue is our growth and storage of some past seasons. We will be upgrading the site behind the scenes this week. There should be little to no interruptions on out end. We might see some old posts dropped but we can re-set them. Hopefully everything will be taken care of by next week. As of now we are limited on the posting of new images, but we can post tweeter links. We had close to 14,000 visitors last month 🙂
Pick and Roll
The show goes live every Wed. All shows are recorded and can be accessed HERE. Last week we had on Middletown’s Chris Bradford and LNP’s Mike Gross. This week we have a Berks County flavor, with Bruce and his announcing partner, Jame Hein, hosting the show. We will also recap some LL past games and future games.
