Column Dec 19

So it begins….HS teams around the state tipped off this past week. The LL had games EVERY night from Dec 13th to the 18th. For the most part, schools did not have a mask mandated policy to enter the gyms.

LLhoops live stream….we are using 2 different systems this season. We had some technical issues on a few games but plugging away. We welcome our Berks Beat friends, Bruce Badgley and James Hein, to the production crew. Bruce plans on doing some live streaming of LL girls games this season as well as some boys games. We will let everyone know in the beginning of the week as to our planned live streamed games. Also, Warren Goodling and Eric Thomas provide top notch coverage of LL boys games. Special thanks to Dessie Jackson for banner designs this season.

Sponsors
Business time…Thanks to our major sponsors this season: H&L Sports, Circle W Sports, Hartz PT, Dan Taylor Law, Buzgon Davis Law, Stephen Grosh Legal, MyJersey, Steve Lewis Insurance Agency, Spooky Nook Basketball. We could NOT provide the services we do – free of charge- without their support. Please thank these companies and consider using their services. Dell knows all our sponsors personally and can vouch for their services. Let us know if anyone wants to join our lists 🙂

New-me…District 3 Hoops–“Pick and Roll”
Bruce Badgley produced a football show this past season on District 3 HS football, He pitched the idea for us to do a live re-cap show on HS hoops around District 3- boys and girls. So…we went pounding on doors and found one sponsor to get the show off the ground. Very special thanks to Bert’s Bottle Shop in Millersville for hosting the show. We plan on broadcasting the program live on Wed evenings from 7 to 8ish. We will go over power rankings around the district, do some recaps, and have some guest coaches from around the area. We will be starting in mid-January.

LL finals
We are hoping to bring the finals via live stream again this season. Stay tuned. We will need sponsorship for the boys and girls finals in February.

Scores/Standings
Thanks to all who send us finals of LL games. We use Circle W Sports server space for updating standings and team pages. We will post when we can – depending on where we are at covering games. We will post the weekly schedule on Sundays. Scores can be found under the scores category. LL standings are under the standings section. We have a tab under the standings section that will allow you to check out the past 2 years as well.

Lebco Sports
Here is a new site dedicated to Lebanon Co. sports. Jeff Falk is their main writer. Billy Davidson provides some fun podcasts with various guests.

The number of years the LL has been in business. The first year was 72-73.
We thought it might be interesting to feature a year during the columns this season. Originally there were two Sections in the LL. The section line up morphed many times – from the 2 section setup to the current 5 section format…and next season we go back to 4 sections.
