Misc. thoughts on LL tournament.
The LL league had a great week. For both the girls and boys, the attendance was very good. TWP hosted the girls Thursday and boys Friday. There was a multitude of media so fans could get their coverage on varied sources of media- TV recaps, newspaper coverage, and websites. I would like to see the finals pushed back a little bit- maybe 7:30 or 8 tips. This would help with people getting to game for traffic and parking. TWP is working on a new construction project, which will open up some more parking in the future. We were told TWP could hold around 3,000 with the upper level having standing room. The awards ceremony was done well- organized and well done by TWP’s announcer, Dan Aiello .  We even heard a shout out for LLhoops :). The double header format for semi’s is the way to go. We heard that attendance at both the girls and boys double header was about the same. Many thanks to all schools/AD’s for setting us up with coverage this week (Warwick, CV, TWP, ELCO).

LLhoops live stream
We produced 4 games this week, with 2 different systems. Bruce Badgley (@BadgleyBruce) produced games (James Hein and Warren Goodling) on Monday and Wed. LLhoops sling crew (Curt Snelbaker, Deron Gue, Warren Goodling, Eric Thomas) produced the boys and girls finals. Bruce and  Rick Dissinger, Crest AD, called the girls game. The games can be replayed using our YouTube channel and links from above. The games are sponsored by various sources -special thanks Hempfield Boosters, Gardener’s Mattress, and unnamed donors for helping sponsor the finals – and of course our year long sponsors… We could NOT produce the games without sponsorship – please thank our business sponsors when you see them. The games cost us some money – fees, equipment, and crew. We are very thankful for the LL league for working with us to bring the games via live stream to LL fans.

So…hits…as of this writing the boys finals are well over 3,000 views..the girls finals are close to 1000. During the games, the girls had around 170 live viewers – the boys were close to 800. We had a video of the LS ski club watching the game on their way to their destination!

Fun after the title game! Coach Ed and Dell- lots of comments 🙂

We are always concerned about getting the games out via the internet. At TWP, we were supplied with an ethernet connection. We are not sure if we could get out live using wifi. There are a lot of moving pieces-setup, connection, sound, etc.

Player of the game spots are fun for sure. 🙂

District 3 tournament
Starts this week. We will be posting LL boys scores on our site. ALL scores can be found on the D3 site. All games up to the finals will be played at the higher seeded gym. Brackets are updated very quickly on the D3 site. They do a great job with updating information.

We will be out and about this week. Andy will have coverage Monday. Bruce Badgley and our new contributor, Randy Barry (@RandyBarry1970), will be covering the Lebanon/Warwick game. Dell plans to be at Hempfield Friday night for a 6A contest. the end of the week coverage depends on the early games.

Columbia opens Thursday as they earned a first round bye. They play the winner of Lancaster Catholic/Kutztown game.
Hempfield opens Friday as they also earned a first round bye. The Knights will host either Muhlenberg/Cedar Cliff winner.

Pick and Roll
Returns this Wednesday Feb.  23rd at Aroogas in Centerville. The show starts at 7 pm live and can be replayed on our YouTube channel. Last week we had Jeff Reinhart LNP and Steve Navaroli District 3 PR on the broadcast. The show runs about an hour. We will put some time stamps on when our guests appear and interviews from the past week—thinking we have a Ty Burton POG interview slated for this week!

Ty Savercool- Cedar Cliff boys (@tsave31)

We will have a t-shirt raffle for those who are at Aroogas after the show. We are on the second level for the show-stop by and say hi. Send any questions/comments via twitter tagging @llhoops, and we will try to get the question answered on air 🙂

Mail bag
If you have some general questions, send them to webmaster@llhoops.com or DM us @llhoops We usually try to get back to folks fairly quickly. We had some good questions this past week.

Stat me
LLhoops had over 20,000 views last week. Scores and Standings are the top pages for clicks. For the year we are over 120,000 unique followers. ..Due to the traffic and our past files, we had to upgrade our server last week. We lost some content but we are now back -faster and having the ability to get some more images on the site.

NFHS- District 3 finals.
Bruce Badgley will be producing some of the District 3 final games. LLhoops is co-sponsoring.
We will post more info as we get it. You must have a subscription to NFHS to view the games. A month subscription costs around $10 and will get you access to all their site. A year subscription will take care of you…for a year :). Bruce calls the girls finals for NFHS, and our LLhoops announcers – Eric Thomas and Warren Goodling – call the boys finals.

Enjoy the start of the District 3 tournament!
